Claude Code Skill Finder

A searchable directory of 969 Claude Code skills, catalogued from a working installation of 1045 and organised by what you're trying to do rather than by name. Search a task, filter by topic, and find out whether something already exists before you spend a day building it.

The reason to publish this is simple: a corpus this size isn't catalogued publicly anywhere. Skills get shared one at a time in repositories and threads, which tells you a skill exists but never tells you what the landscape looks like. Last rebuilt 2026-07-29.

The method, in full

How this corpus was built, and what was left out

A generator walks every SKILL.md in the installation — 1045files across an active set and an archive — and reads the name and description straight from each file's frontmatter. No descriptions are rewritten, summarised or generated. If a skill's description is vague here, it is vague at source.

74 skills are excluded. The filter scans the entire body of every file rather than just the frontmatter, and drops the whole skill on a single hit against private hostnames, server addresses, local paths or account identifiers — plus a list of personal operating workflows that would be useless to anyone else. It is deliberately over-broad. A wrongly excluded skill costs one row in a list of a thousand; a wrongly included one publishes a hostname.

Topic tags are derived, not authored. Each name and description is matched against a keyword table on word boundaries — never bare substrings, which is the trap here: ui matches inside build, guide and require, and quietly triples a category. A skill carries up to four tags, and anything matching nothing is filed under General rather than forced into a category it doesn't belong in.

Counts exceed 969 because a skill can carry several tags.

Questions

Knowing what exists is the easy half

A directory tells you a capability exists. It doesn't tell you which three of them are worth wiring into how you actually work, which is the part that takes a while to learn. The Leverage Audit is the other end of the same question — it starts from your week rather than from the tooling.
